2 Channel High Voltage Oscilloscope Probe.
Purpose: To measure NST's to high accuracy, learn measurment techniques and provide a common standard for HV calibration of other instruments.
Background and previous threads: (NST HV measurement) (True RMS error! ,Realized 6/20/2011) (HV Diode making) (Mearsuring HV resistors to high accurracy) (HV resistors, Project) (Pots and HV measurements) (About Bio-Oils for HFHV Transformers.) (Capacitive Voltage divider, for O-scopes (10,000:1))
Specs: For use on 1X setting. 1M ohm input impedance scopes. 11kV instantaneous peak voltage to ground max. Olive oil (food oil) filled, for heat and insulation. 1000:1, 100M ohms input impedance, either channel. For less than 1kHz Vac, or DC use.
The device as built w/USB Oscope.
Pics Schematic as built.
Device Under Test, DUT, Neon Sign Transformer.
Franceformer NST, the DUT.
Here the "wobbly sine wave" can be seen, and the true RMS measurements can be seen too. This ratio is accurate.
Here the invert feature was use to compare the waves, the blue trace is always about 1 pixel higher in voltage than the green trace. The ratio of divison is not accurate, thus the 10.4V vs 9.4V difference.

Very interesting thread you have here, but why double post?
If im not mistaken, the project forum rules allow the starter to post new info(to get to the top) and then were supposed to update all changes to the first post, for ease of viewing. (it also helpsme keep a time stamp on my progress.)
EDIT: (From Admin, project forum rules) * All information needs to be consolodated to the very first post in the thread. You may post short posts in your thread stating that you've updated your project thread, keeping in mind the double posting rule, but any actual updating needs to be done by modifying the very first post in the thread.
