First of all: Woot, first post. Now that that's out of the way... My cousin and I have just started making a coil gun. It's ended up all right, for something that's made out of a straw, disposable camera and some spare batteries. ;) But, as we are total and complete newbs to anything close to this kind of project, we need help. With everything. Can any of you just give us a general overview to help us understand more about of this kind of stuff? We find it very interesting.

I would advise that you not use l33t speak on any of the forums. It makes you and you cousin seem like a couple of 14yr boys playing with things you shouldnt be playing with. If thats the case please stick with potato cannons.
