ok, so I am currently designing/building my Pulse Bank, for Electro-Kinetics and... other things but here is what I was thinking: I am going to be needing a higher voltage charge in order to properly use a Triggered Spark Gap, as Silicon for these things can get Expensive and I like the "Extra bang" would I be able to charge the Caps in Parallel, but Discharge them in Series like in a Marx Generator? Will this cause any issues...
I plan to have two Cap banks, that are equal in size charge in parallel at 450 Volts, then discharge in series at 900 Volts at least and I might rig my caps for more (though it might get more complex to do that)
I am so far using two types of Caps, that will be Evenly Distributed... (and I might swap out one of them for the ever popular set from All Tronics) they are rated as follows: 5900uF 500V, I have two of these and each "sub-Bank" will have one 1800uF 450V - each bank will have one of these as well...

if you can, use the capacitors rated the same. it makes things easier, espesially when calculating energies. just make sure you dont charge over the lowest rated capacitor(or capacitor string). and btw. you will get far greater losses with spark gap than with SCR's.

however, SCRs for this voltage and current are expensive, and I plan to expand this bank over time...
