They changed their story a bit since last time I looked ... now they throw in "optional" reactants and say only part of the energy comes from them ... uhuh.

The topic is correct.

There can be other explanations for beliefs of this kind beyond simple fraud.

For example, in 1903 an eminent French physicist named Blondiot believed he'd discovered a new form of radiation, "N-rays", and successfully persuaded hundreds of other French scientists of their existence too.

It's true that Blondiot didn't start selling shares and venture capital opportunities in his imaginal discovery - which might have justified charges of scientific misconduct - but then he wasn't living in the United States in the 21st Century.

"Science is a way of trying not to fool yourself. The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool."

There are two possibilities: they are fooling themselves, or they are simply trying to fool everyone else. In either case, it's not something you'll want to waste time or energy on. I think it's probably more the former than the latter, given statements like this:

Despite its successes, quantum mechanics (QM) has remained mysterious to all who have encountered it. Starting with Bohr and progressing into the present, the departure from intuitive, physical reality has widened.

That, uh... really says just about all one needs to know.

Free energy discussion is not welcome on the forum, so I'm locking the thread.
