7414 which is a hex schmitt trigger NOT gate chip.
I'm not sure why he used the old version of the chip though. Maybe it was what he had on hand? I think it would be ok to substitute it with the LS version.

looks like he has a severe slant to his writing, witch would mean that's a 7414.
