This is what happens when an unpowered bridge is connected to a load where the input power usually goes. only the GDT is driven. See youtube video description for circuit details. the video (this will be removed once someone can explain it) schematic

I've found some strange voltage differences in different parts of my H-bridges when poking around with a multimeter with power supply off and gate drive on. I'm guessing it's the same deal.

I've noticed the same thing with my H-Bridge, powering a tesla coil. Where you had the inductor in your circuit I had the primary, and with the secondary in place it would light flourescent tubes. No power connected, only signal through GDT. It seems it transfers a decent amount of energy through.
