How to connect unipolar transil?
marking stripe goes to +U ?
edit: maybe its not transil in english, part no. is 1.5KE400A

Transil is ok, TVS (transient voltage supressor) is more common here in UK. The stripe/band is the cathode end which goes to the +U as you guessed. It's just like a zener/avalanche diode. One way a diode (not a very good one), the other a voltage clamp.
