Wanting to build a small washer launcher - got the caps etc., but was looking through the "power" boxes in the shack and found some IRKH91/16S90.
Do folks think these will be fast enough to do the job & not blow up on me - I'm intending to drive about 30 turns of 2.5mm diam magnet wire from about 800V @ 3300uF made up of two strings of 2 x 3300uF @ 500V (RIFA PEH200ZV4220M) for about 1200J.
I don't want to suck it and see as I have very few decent thyristors...
