Im looking into making a coilgun like the one described on under "The Reconnection Coilgun" on this website. Quite easy to construct I imagine, but Im not quite sure about the direction of the current in the coil that is not fully visible, clockwise or anti-clockwise?
Im thinking anti-clockwise but I would like to hear it from someone who knows for sure.

You can answer that by inspection.
Two similar pancake coils carry identical time-varying currents in the same or opposite direction. They induce symmetrical circulating currents in the conductive disk, which (by superposition) determine the total current in the disk.
In which case will the front-induced and back-induced currents cancel, and in which case will they add?

That is sort of what I was thinking and which made me draw the conclusion that the current in the second coil must be in the anti-clockwise direction.
