forgot to remake this after the server failure!

who here will be operating on Field Day?

I'll be out of Flagpole Hill in Dallas, Texas on various HF from the club setup (though I will be testing my own setup before and after field day if someone wants to try a QSO).
I am unsure of what callsign we'll be using (I think they alternates between the Dallas (w5fc) and the Races callsign (w5dcr) )

EDIT: it turns out we are w5fc - the Dallas county REACT did not operate with us this year.

I think I'll be hanging out on 20m the most, assuming they bring a beam again!

field day came and went.

I operated on 20, 40, and 80m with usually around 40W but turning up to 100W for certain purposes, probably a little more than I should have smile
the modes I used were SSB and digital, however digital had a lot of problems using an improvised setup so no official contacts were made.
Other operators there were using blasting CW as well as SSB.
as for antenna, we used several hand erected. a dual band NVIS, a simple dipole, several verticals and one "big stick" as we call it for 80m - that thing needed six people and guy wires to get it up!

for my station, I ran everything off of a 12V 92aH battery (yes, the same one I posted here) for 9 hours before it got to near changing time, after that I took it off a little early so that we weren't interrupted as the bands opened up. With the second battery I was able to avoid ever touching the big power monstrosity that the club used.

What power monstrosity? - I trailer loaded with 2.1kW rated solar panels (though measured at 2.4kW at times) with 840Ah of battery and over 12kW of inverters... I never needed it for my radio, but all of the others used it so we got the alternative energy class.

what were you operating?
