I was reading a great app note by ixys

about driver theory and applications.

There is a section in figure 16 showing current sensing to drive a fault signal to prevent mosfet/igbt destruction.

Has anyone incorporated an overcurrent switch into their mosfet design to prevent excessive currents?

I have not looked at over current detection for a bridge. However, I am exploring a de-saturation detector for my IGBT bridge.
