hey guys, I need to spoof a li-ion battery pack so I can power one of my cheap cameras with a different power source, in this case my ROV battery with a voltage regulator
the battery has three connections: +, -, and "T" - I assume that the "T" pin is stopping me from just hooking the camera up to a voltage regulated supply, which has so far failed.
I have no idea what I have to do about it, and I don't even own a charger for these batteries anymore and nonetheless know where to get this model. It's for an old Aiptek camera, at least six or seven years old.

Hi Jimmy

The "T" terminal is normally for temperature sensing. Inside the battery should be a 10k @ 25'C NTC thermistor connected between "T" and "-".

So try connecting a 10k resistor between T and - on the camera.

Some smart battery packs use the T terminal to communicate using a 1-wire serial protocol, in which case you might be out of luck.

heh..
i did something like this using a dead motorola pack.
had a phone where the battery was made of unobtainium, so took the old dead pack apart and salvaged its pcb.
added a nokia cell across the internal terminals and voila.

worked fine for a week or so until i got my main phone back.
