Do you need a resistor? or does the screen take the watts it is rated for, ie no current limenting needed

The screen of the *vacuum* tube pentode will draw the rated current when connected to a voltage source, under the specified operating conditions of paate , cathose and control gid values.

There are several reasons for setting screen voltage with a resistor.
