um... ok guys we might need a new Periodic Table...
I did read somewhere that they had fleetingly observed superheavy elements and the literature abounds with unusual signatures of "impossible" stable elements with over 100 protons.
Maybe someday they will find a use for such things, but hopefully it will be used for constructive rather than destructive purposes.
EDIT: Element 122 may in fact be stable, and I petition that it be called "Marinovium" in honour of the scientist who discovered it. I even theorised that the presence of Element 122 in gold and mercury could be due to Hg superconducting at <4K and therefore stabilising it by decoupling energy from the hyperdeformed nucleus via the virtual electron transfer effect.
