Water in a vacuum

This is more out of curiosity than anything but, here goes. When water is place in a vacuum it turns into a gas as everybody knows but, if its in a sealed chamber this will cause the pressure to go up. At what pressure would the water stop evaporating? Is there a way of determining this other than experimentation?

Thanks! I tried looking on wikipedia first but, I guess I just used the wrong keywords. Unless anybody has anything spectacular to add then we can just let this thread die.

The same happens if you heat water in a sealed chamber, the pressure will be equal to the vapour pressure at that temperature. Thats also why liquid C02 remains a liquid until the tanks valve is opened.

This steam rocket works by keeping very hot water liquid under its own vapour pressure. When the pressure is released, the water boils and expands many times its initial volume.
