Hi all,
After trying LCLR , series LCR topologies I started this thread because I want to try current source inverter with parallel resonant tank.
The problem is that using GDT to drive the H switches will arise to core saturation due to the overlaped gate driving signals .are optocouplers the only option?

later I found this paper which uses two switches connected to common ground
has somebody tried this topology?

thanks

Hernán

That topology is just the Mazzilli/ZVS.

Hi Steve, the mazzilli uses a center taped transformer like push-pull or both are the same
thing? I`m confused because in the paper the transformer is not used

thanks

Look in the OMG Induction Heater thread, I demonstrate an induction heater driven by a ZVS without a centre tapped work coil.

I've just looked at the thread you mention but I didn't find the schematic of your circuit
can you post it here?
I ´ve designed the logic to produce the ovelap at gate signals but I don't know how to drive the high side switch without GDT. I need to find some fast optocouplers

thanks Iam, these are exactly what I'm looking for.;-)
I don't know if I could find some of them here.

Thanks Iam ,they've denied my request of free samples :(

fortunately I found a third option: a wide duty clycle gate drive transformer as is presented in this paper
what do you think?

thanks

Hernán
