So, I took apart my old computer's PSU, and there is this yellow stuff all over the tops of the capacitors, but besides that, the caps look fine. They aren't venting or bulged. Do you think it's leaked electrolyte? Or could it be something else?
I'd post a picture but I don't have a digital camera, and can't find the cord to hook my phone up to the computer. Probably can't say much without a picture though.

Just to be sure, smell the yellow stuff. if it smells something like fish it has leaked, it sounds like it has leaked anyway but it doesn't hurt to check.

its not. The yellow stuff is a silicone (i think) compound manefacture's will put on there. Some times its yellow, clear, grey, or tan. Touch it, it will be soft, you can just scrape it away.
