What would be the cheapest and highest sample rate computer oscilloscope i can get?

I am looking for some board that can connect to my computer somehow and give me an oscilloscope.

I heard of one that can do the signal generating as well.
But I had lost the link.

I thought of building one myself but I never tried anything like that before.

I want megahertz.

If you dont want to spend a fortune, and want to keep both your arms and legs! Look at the RIGOL usb scope/generator
well worth the price!

The Rigol DS1052E is a pretty good scope compared in price, speed and features to just 5-10 year old brand name DSOs

I'll also vouch for the Rigols. I bought the 100MHz 2 channel 1102E for about $630 or so after a student discount from TEquipment, they might still have the sale going. I bought it about a month ago and It has served me well so far. My only complaint is that it's supposed to be able to save waveforms onto a USB drive, but I can't get this function to work. I haven't messed with it too much though so it might just be operator error. I've had such bad luck with used Tektroniks and the like that I just took the plunge and went for the new scope. So far I'm not disappointed.

I have a Rigol and I vouch for it too ;P

Z28Fistergod: The logic for saving on the USB device is sort of odd yeah but at least I'm able to save there by making a file on the usb-device with the storage -> external menu (remember to select the correct save format before this) and then just record the waveform and it should appear in the file. I had some problems getting both of the channels to show up on the bitmap images, sometimes I'd get channel 1, sometimes nothing (just noise) and sometimes both channels and it felt pretty random. But by selecting channel 1 for recording and making sure you have channel 1 "selected" (so that turning the V/div knob affects channel 1) I seem to always get both channels recorded which is good enough for me.

Take a look at National Instruments website. They make a whole range of internal and external data acquisition cards to enable your PC to function as an oscilloscope using LabView.

Labview is pretty nice! Especially if you can get a small rack with different input cards. It can record quite a bit of
information. Nice stuff but it can get pricey! I actually use circuit design suite 10, its great! NI makes good stuff!
