That's so funny. It's just like people buying carbon comp resistors for their tube amps because it sounds so much better than the newer resistors. tongue

I plugged my daughter's 23 year old boom box into this sucker and instantly ascended to Godhood.

Now that I am ensconced in the pantheon of human dieties, I'll be granting wishes. Any requests?
Wow.

Just a warning to any novices that are thinking of buying this product -- these sockets conduct inordinate amounts of current. I would not recommend attaching this to your wiring without a voltage transformer. It only takes about five microfarads to kill.
Does he know what he's talking about?

AWESOME, I have been waiting forever for this product. Finally something to go with my custom vacuum sputtered unobtainium circuit breaker contacts and calibrated studio grade Romex. Now if I can just get the power company to get rid of those pesky scalar waves in my zero point energy transmission system, I'll be all set.

Hey, if you are reading this maybe you have advice on how I can attach my holographic ear bud drivers to my tin foil hat?
This guy does, that is for sure. (if you don't realize, its satire)

I do installations all the time so I get to use products that I don't have to pay for myself. The last job I did the home owner wanted a few of these. I don't get what good a 100 receptacle is and a $2000 power cord is when the wire in the wall is still NMD90? If you are going spend this amount of money you might as well go high grade the whole way. (Kind of like dropping a V12 engine in a Ford Tempo?)

The internal components are really no different then more expensive receptacles you can buy from a hardware store. The difference being that they are brass and gold plated...

Anyway, they work well for what they are.
At last, some truth!!!

Bottom line is that your system will be only as good as the weakest link, in this case the quite non-oxygen free, non-silver, non-helical wound, non-snakeoil impregnated romex from the breaker panel to the outlet, or maybe the feeder cable from the upstream stepdown transformer.

Well, to paraphrase my favourite audio writer, Douglas Self: If your amp is so poorly designed that changing the power cord makes a difference to the sound, you've been suckered. If the power cord you bought doesn't make a difference to the sound, you've been suckered. That's what the audiophile industry is all about, suckering people.

I own a valve hi-fi amp, but I don't feel too guilty because I restored it myself. I'm now going to post a gratuitous pic of it, and yes, that is orange power cord I'm using as speaker cable.

Yeah, we all know the only time you really need solid carbon is for Marxgens...
