SCR supplier in australia?

Am wanting to use an SCR for triggering my CG.

Jacar's best is only 88A peak current, at ~$5 a piece. (just not good enough....)
Farnell's best is rated at 800A peak current, at ~$15 a piece.

Are there any other good sources for SCR's in oz?

 		You should calculate voltage of the caps and total circuit resistance to get an idea of your peak current, or better yet use Barrys simulators

That'll give you an estimation of your peak current which will give you an idea if the 800A peak would be enough.

Farnells price seems quite good for a 800A peak too.

Don't know of any suppliers though, sorry.

How can you say that? He did not give specs.

Keep in mind peak current is for 10ms or 8.3ms, coilgun pulses will be much shorter, and pulse current ratings go up exponentially.

800a peak is enough for caps up to 500j (400-450v) and coil about 100-300mkHn - I think that newbie user wouldn't have more caps.

 		yes, 800A is enough, only using ~70j. My question was more about finding more than one source for parts. As it is, I will go with this for now, but cannot be sure they will always have stock.
