Referring to the circuit, the current drive is coupled to the work coil/capacitor. If the LC is unloaded the current coupling coil can go up, increasing current to the transistor base. Can the current transformer be designed so the core saturates and does not allow the secondary current to rise beyond a certain point? Would I just undersize the ferrite core, increase the current through the primary and see if I limit the secondary current?
