I have taught myself almost everything I know about electronic design except for some of the finer points of resistor-resistor (school taught me the finer points) networks. I am far from an expert but, I do know alot about the basic(R, L and C) components. It is turning out to be very difficult to learn about transistors. Every website I visit describes everything about transistors in great detail but, I need a brief summary instead of an in depth analysis to get started. I have purchased several text books and those are even worse than the websites! The most valuable tools so far to my learning have been connecting a pot to the base of a transistor(I learned to start at a lower voltage since some draw more than 1/4 watt. The magic smoke came out of the pot and it didnt work to well anymore) and measuring the voltage drop across the emmiter and collector although all I learnt was that transistors do what transistor do. Regulate current based upon the input. Are there any websites that you know of that can help me? I tried doing my own research but, I failed.
