idea for a remote control

hi,

I was randomly going through ebay and i bumped into this

it gave me the idea of making a device that is remotely controllable by a PC with a wireless connection.

This is my plan:

the dlink and the arduino emulate a fake printer.
the pc has wifi and connects to the dlink.
at the PC end we just write commands to the printer port and they are interpritted by the arduino and executed.
very simple.

will this work?
am i missing something?

I'm sure you could get it to work. Have you seen this project.
