Quick question:

We all know those levitation devices that use an electromagnet somewhere on top and with the help of some control circuitry it can levitate a magnetical object beneath it.
Nothing knew.

However, I have seen some sculptures that just use one device at the bottom and levitate something on top of it.
So, How does that work? I mean how can this be kept stable?

Has there been hobby built device? If you know some, please feel free to share as I couldn't find any hobby built ones.
