the form factor is a little on the large size, but I think it would be a great way to show stats... such as if the numbers are bad, down, good, up, or whatever you might want to see where numbers mean more than one thing
but I wonder if there is a better way to do this... any ideas?

Eather way they are cool as heck I want to make one like Mestre Racerxdl was saying.
I thought about getting a "jumbo" 7-segment module (not like the size posted above, but like 2 inches or so of the model in the link posted) - and using regular RGB LEDs... the surplus store nearby has a lot of displays, I figure they have something that would work well for this, and have a decent size.
