ok so, i have about 18 610 amp rated SCR's iv been thinking of ways to connect them, and my acquaintance insists on mounting them on a PCB. keep in mind that at making there will be about 12500 amp pulses going through there. with 1.5" traces, on a pcb, do you think it will be enough to conduct without causing too much resistance? or even blowing the PCB?

Would these SCRs happen to be the through-hole ones sampled from ST microelectronics? Concerning your question, that would depend on the thickness of the copper in the traces. It might be possible to solder additional wire to the bottom of the SCR leads under the PCB to help reduce resistance and help increase its ability to handle the current. It seems to me that that a PCB would be the only way to efficiently connect a whole whack of through-hole SCRs in parallel, anyone else have any better ideas? What style of terminations are you thinking for connecting to the PCB, large bolts with washers maybe? Also, it seems as if you rely quite heavily on this "Acquaintance's" advice xD. I'm not an expert concerning PCBs maybe someone else can take over from here.

12500 amps is probably going to vapourise a pcb, you need to use solid aluminium or copper to connect everything
