Hi All,

I am getting weird square waveform from my oscilloscope channel 2. It is curved on the top instead of the typical square wave, what could be the issue ?

Check the easiest first, swap Ch.1 and Ch.2 probes.

'scope probes seem to be a consumable item
always check your probes when any experimental result seems 'wrong'

What is the frequency of the sq wave you are measuring? It might be that your probes are not compensated correctly.

Did tried swapping channel 1 probe and also clean the rotary switch contact, still the same though...
Btw, I have been trying to upload my scope shot photo since yesterday, but kept ending up with a blank screen. Anybody having the same problem ?

I'm assuming your measuring a square wave and getting a curved top. If your probe has an adjustment, try tweaking it until the square wave is square. if I'm wrong and it's not that simple, sorry.

How about connecting the probe to the calibration pin on the scope then adjusting the scopes variable cap instead of just assuming the waveform you're measuring is super clean? After that then see if the one youre measuring look better.

Yes, I am measuring square wave and both probes are connected to the calibration pin which generates square waveform. Also, tested the probes capacitance adjustment, didn't work at all. Could a faulty power supply capacitors causes such curve during the square wave rise? I did noticed two of the power caps kinda mouldy when I first got them. The waveform actually looks like those Mosfet output driven with too much gate resistance.

I would say that if you can't adjust the overcompensation down then your probe is probably hosed.
