Hi all,
Assuming single phase mains supply and a box full of matched NST's (non center tapped), is it possible to wire them up in such a way as to double the output frequency? ie. 60Hz mains input 120Hz output!
The application would of course, at least in my instance, be a tank circuit for a Tesla Coil!

I'm not sure about doubling the frequency, but you can triple it by driving everything hard into saturation. Either overdrive the NSTs or add a saturable reactor to the incoming line.
That should generate a ton of third harmonic energy that you can filter off, maybe by resonating the NST secondaries at 180Hz. This would also work for 5th, 7th, 9th, etc. harmonics, but with lower and lower efficiency.
Distortion and diodes are your friends, because math (De Moivre's theorem? I forget) tells us that linear circuit elements can't change the frequency of a signal.
