Capacitor current

Hi does anybody know how determine the current of a capacitor? It's easy to determine the energy stored but I need how long a discharge takes to calculate the current. My capacitor has these specifications:

Sprague
748d
din 41248 gpf
250V
2200 microfarad.

This is the only aluminum electrolytic capacitor from sprauge at 2200uF / 250V I could find, you can use the ESR values from the datasheet to calculate you discharge time through whatever load you might have in mind.

This depends on the load almost entirely especially if it has a decent amount of resistance. You need to know the RC time constant. R*C= Time in seconds it take to reach 63% of the original or supplied voltage.

If the cap is discharged into an inductor and the resistances in the circuit are small, the peak current can be calculated from 1/2 I^2L = 1/2 V^2 C
In any event, this will be the maximum current you can get.
