this is what i have done,
i have a PVC that fits around a core
out of a fly-back ;)
and secondary is 150 turns.
i got huge sparks but when i looked at the secondary
it was full of corona.
well i saw it coming ;)
it sparked to itself :(
so i am going to redo the secondary but just before that i need,
tips on how to isolate it better mistrust

Easy. You wind it single layer tesla coil style and paint it with some clear laqour or dunk in oil.

its pretty hard to make transformer oil burn, im fairly sure sparks couldnt set it alight (and you wont be getting any sparks anyway since oil is a good dielectric)

Just make sure you dont get any air bubbles inside the coil, as this could allow sparks

Oil can burn, but only at ridiculous heats. Oil, not gasoline. Oil as in, like, vegetable oil and olive oil. What you want isn't an oil like either of those, though. What you want is mineral oil.

Rapeseed oil works well. You might want to put it into the oven at ~140C for about an hour to get all the water out, but from my experience it works well as-is.

I've made a few high frequency HV transformers, and all have worked well since I started using mineral oil and plastic to insulate the layers with. Link2 The final transparency layer has unwound in the smaller transformer, which isn't a problem. Just remember to use good tape or glue when securing the last plastic sheet, or the transformer may unravel slowly.

But oil is not a must if you don't want to deal with it, but its a good idea if you want to wind a multilayer coil.

What i did was simply did a single layer coil wound nice and evenly like a tesla coil and just painted it with clear wood lacquer. The transformer did strike a arc at 2cm so thats roughly 20kV and the secondary didn't arc over.

I have had very good luck using silicone (make sure to get the clear kind, I once ended up with a tube that was hallf full of aluminum powder sad ) aquarium sealant, and overhead transparencies. Smear the secondary in a liberal layer of silicone, wrap a strip of overhead transparency around it. Make sure to leave plenty of room around the edges, and to minimise air bubbles.

Be careful if you use room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone, most cure giving off acetic acid (vinegar). Before you pot your windings, test a small amount on any random scrap paper or cardboard, check for the smell of vinegar as it cures until fully cured. The acetic acid may end up corroding things, and causing many headaches later on, when you cannot service electronics.
