I was wondering if the wire position on the rails of the railgun affect the direction of the lorenz forces?
On the railgun that I am currently working on, which is pneumatically injected, the wires that go from rails to capacitors, are currently attached about 1" into the beginning of the rail. Does that mean that when the projectile is initially injected into the rails to close the curcuit, the projectile will actually fire backwards?
