Ok here are the SCR's I got. As I said in my post a couple weeks ago I cannot find the specs on them. A sheet I had in the box from the supplier said that a C164M was a modern replacment for them and are rated at 600V, 110A (cont.) but this newer SCR is slightly more robust. So how far the ones I got are behind this newer model I do not know. I plan on testing one to the point of destruction most likely to find out. I have 6 I beleive.
My question is there a way to tell if the stud is cathode or anode? And I see 2 small wires, I know one is the gate but wich one and what is the other for? Here is a pic:

The second lead is a redundant connection to the anode, because there can be substantial voltage drop across the high current connections they give you the extra lead to hook up to the gate driver.
as to cathode/anode; one of the leads will measure continuity to either the stud or the wire--they are both the anode

Ok, so if I got this right then one of the small wire leads will measure a short to either the stud or the heavy guage wire, and which ever one that is will be the anode? It looks pretty obvious that would be the red wire as it appears to be connected to the heavy red wire. That leaves the white one as the gate and the stud would then be cathode. Thanks!
I have used small scr's and triacs before on small circuits but this is the first stud mount and just so happens I cant find any specs. Its really odd, if I google "1130-008" it literly finds only 1 result. Thats crazy to me because even if you just hit a bumch of keys like"ghjkl" you'll get hundreds or thousands of results!
