As far as I understand, brushless fans use hall sensors to detect the rotor position. Could this sensor be used to build a magnetic levitation device?

there is 2 types, the analog type gives voltages above the 0 field voltage with one magnetic pole and voltages below this for the other pole. the stronger the field the stronger the offset. the second type is digital, which output logic high when a particular field strength is exceeded. keep in kind the bandwidth is only in the 10s of Khz.
