Well, i am looking for some good SCR's for my 1950uf 800volt cap bank(two 3900uf 400vdc caps in series, 624 joules), that can withstand its peak current in a virtual dead short(well, thin wire exploding). With this capacitor, no resistance(i know, impossible) and 50uh, It would be about 5ka peak. Well, since i am going to have resistance in the discharge path, i figured i would buy 5 scr's rated at 1kv and 950 amps, and parallel them. But, i am afraid that paralleling would not be so great, due to them not equally sharing current. So i am pretty much stuck. I also need a protection diode, might as well rate that at 5ka too. Where could i get one? I am looking for just a single stud diode.
