Well, I decided to get to work on the coil after studying some exams. Besides my hands hurting due to hard-coil wrapping manually 40 feet around a pen, I only got 2 layers until it started to cave in due to .. cardboard sides. Well, I should have kept track, its 6 or 7 layers. ANYWAYS, The coil length is now....

2 inches wide
Inner coil: 2CM I guess... Lets just saw Pen.
Outer coil: 5CM I guess... Uses a compos..

ANYWAYS, If you remember last time, it was like what, 8 cm long. and like, 50V, made the bullet shoot maybe 1cm at the most.

Well, This coil, 50V, shoots out and skids a maybe a foot or so.

So, I'm trying different voltage, but I can tell at least this coil WORKS. Also, For now, Im putting the ammo 1cm into the coil due to balancing, else it would fall out the end. Fixing that. PICTURES!!! This is testing stage. Enjoy the mess.

The source. Other side of cardboard lies another capacitor. Knex 2AA industrial battery switch, and Camera charger.

The coil, 1 of many ammo on the left, and extra coil spool behind it. Messy coil isn't it?

FYI: I'm getting a new camera for Christmas, So I don't have to use a webcam to snap pictures..

When I roll coils, I find coating each layer with quick setting araldite really helps keep the coil stay together. When I'm finished I coat the whole thing with araldite, to hold it together firmly.

Thing is, Id just hate to coil something, and find out that using less = better.. Last I checked most adhesives are hard to take off :P

Well, First-ever that this happened to me. Never once, did this happen until now (to me)

Shot 330V with a single 400V 470uf capacitor. Ammo, well, believe it or not, I put it 1/2 into the coil (tip of ammo)

when i was making mine i put big wooden o ring shaped things over each end, then i drilled two holes into the barrel and put a nail through each to hold the wood in place, then once i was done winding i just put some bolts through the top and bottom of the bits of wood, and removed the pins (and ignored the holes)

thats pretty impressive so far killa

Nice space with no text big5824 :)

Today i messed with 3 pens. 2 dental associate pens (it doesn't say ass) and a big one. Together, I was able to make a in-progress multistage coil setup. The open space will be used for a light contact switch.

.5% efficiency :)

Thats a random shot with silicon steel. I found a steel projectile that works MUCH better, but havnt chronod yet. With silicon steel, its ~2.5J output.I put all my stuff on my site (in sig).

Yeah, I'm cheap using a free web host.. But it works. Just better pictures of what I currently use, all but the barrel and SCR.
