Hi,
Shouldn't the + and - pins of the LM311 be the other way around? If + is greater than - than the output will be high. High output will turn on that LED and reset the 555. When you first turn that circuit on, the voltage at the + pin will be 6V and voltage at - pin will be 0V, so the output will be high. High output when the circuit turns on? Doesn't sound right to me. Is there something wrong with my logic? or should the + and - be the other way around.
pin 4 on the 555 isnt reset, it has to be high for the 555 to be active. So when the output is high, the astable is running, and when its low the astable stops
