i'm building a coilgun for school that must run off a 9v battery. will that battery even be able to fully charge the 2000uf cap? i'm using the standard disposable camera circuit at 300 and some odd volts.

Yeah easy, batteries hold loads of energy compared to capacitors.

Roughly 60 charge cycles assuming no inverter losses.
In reality you might get around 30-40.
Your cap is 108J, and a 9V battery holds roughly 6kJ.
