A few people have already asked about my circuit. This is the schematic that worked for me for removing "parasitic" oscillations from the original passive gate drive zvs/mazilli inverter. However I killed an IGBT with it (but I could say the same about the original driver ).
If someone wants to try it, do it at your own risk (I take no responsibility for flying silicon), and please tell me how it worked for you or report any bugs. With only the gate driver powered, you should be getting a start-up waveform on the gates. Then power it up with a safety load in series (bulb...), if it glows brightly and the transformer doesnt output anything, try swapping the feedback winding polarity. The phasing should be right as in the schematic. If everything fails try to play with the start-up osc freq.
(and remember that transistors should have a breakdown voltage of at least 4 times supply voltage)

No, as someone here said, you will ring the series inductor (which introduces HV spikes on the transistors). The parallel resonant circuit is designed for CW resonance operation, it could probably be linearly modulated with a bigass transistor, but imho there are better ways to make a singing arc.
