I don't believe so. The Spec Sheet shows them connected before being used by any other part of the schematic. I believe under low power applications you may leave pin 1 or pin 4 unconnected.
edit:
Wikipedia: "In general, the MOSFET is a four-terminal device, and in integrated circuits many of the MOSFETs share a body connection, not necessarily connected to the source terminals of all the transistors."
I have looked the document over twice and can't find a reference to either pin 1,4 being the body connection. The spec sheet doesn't lead me to believe either pin is connected to only a subset of the transistor source terminals.

Either terminal can be used as the power source and kelvin source. Internally its a heavy bus bar type connection that solders down to the die, symmetrical to either tab.
