Hi all, today I have my first full power running good Mini DRSSTC,
It is a Halfbridge of stgw30nc60wd that is 60A 600V 200A Pulsed that I have sampled from ST.
The power input is a 127Vac mains with a doubler, that I get 300VDC Bus, smoothed with 1000uF cap bank for each side of the doubler.
7 Turn primary with 50nF 1600V cap bank (I know I should get a bigger voltage cap bank, but that is only for testing for a few secs)

Fres = 244kHz
Consuming 2,5A from 50BPS and 10A from 600BPS

Here are the results:

I was placed a wrong video! Sorry! Now its corrected!

why do you need a bigger voltage cap bank if its only 300V?

He's not talking about the DC bus filter capacitor, but the resonant tank cap where voltage can ring up to many times the supply voltage.

Yeah, the calcs give 10 times the DC Bus Voltage, so for run at 127VAC mains I get 150VDC bus, so I will get 1500V at primary cap. But with doubler I get 300VDC Bus and 3kV Primary Cap.

I was testing a few things on the coil, when I get 70cm sparks, I get a spark on the heatsink, and the two igbts died :( I will buy more, and next time I will put my 1.5KE220CA (two in series) in anti-parallel with igbt to prevent that thing to happen.

It breaks on two points, I dont know why, I dont have any sharp place on toroid (its equal along it) but it is working fine there. And is looking good too :D
