I'm creating a simple Marx Generator.

Input - 10kv DC (555 driven flyback)

The problem that I have ran into is the resistor and the capacitor for the generator.
When high voltage resistors are needed, I have seen people link one or more resistors in series and I have assumed that high ohm's resistors are needed for high voltage operation. I have found some resistors from some old CRT TV's but not sure if they are usuable for the Marx Generator. The following resistors that I found are on the picture bellow. Also, which one of these capacitors are suitable for a Marx generator?

Those 2 big ceramic caps could work, assuming you have more of them (lots more!), cause they're up to 2kV. One can get 15kV+ ceramic caps, but not in TVs.

I don't think any of those resistors will work; most look like low-resistance power resistors, whereas for a marx you will need megaohm-range resistors that can standoff the very high voltage.

Normal resistors can stand up to quite high voltages DC, at relatively low power levels. Earlier today I ran 6kV from a small scanner board powered CW multiplier through a 2W 370k resistor without burning it out. Not that I would trust it for any length of time, but I can tell you that it worked. Given that my input power is 12W (with 56pF caps output is likely much lower), I'm sure that your higher powered fly back will burn out those resistors in a heart beat. Also, IIRC those types of resistors are more prone to failure than solid carbon resistors, because the minuscule wire in them breaks easily at high voltages. I know I've burned a few of them out in this manner, again with a higher voltage CW.
In actuality, high value resistors are more prone to failure at high voltages. This is because electricity is lazy, and takes the easiest way around. If that means the air inside or outside the resistor is easier, that is the path it is going to take.
If you are willing to wait a while for your Marx to charge and use low charging power, then there is a cheap, easy way of getting high voltage, high value resistors. Some black craft paper is conductive, though extremely resistive. A few centimeters of it will give you about two Mohms of resistance. However, you have to be careful, as this kind of resistor is easily burned (not burned out, burned!) at high power levels, and you must clamp leads to it, instead of soldiering.
