they would sertainly be good value if they were - but i think it is likely that they cannot be pulsed (like for a coil gun)

I used them for coilgun, however i dont know how long they can live with that because they are not meant for it.

You can get them on ebay for 30 % of that price

I think these caps also have a fairly high ESL or ESR (or both). I used one in to ignite rocket motors once, and a photo flash bank of the same size at 300V would always make a much nicer boom/crack than this cap's fizzle.
