Welcome aboard!

Now with that out of the way ... wink Site Rules, Part II-C: "Do not ask for step-by-step instructions, detailed plans, or complete schematics. If anyone wants to make them available, they will. Try Google or the HvWiki."

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE

Our Wiki is extremely lacking in the induction heater section.

Here are some site to get you going (or anyone inclined to fill out the induction heater section):

Also don't forget the ZVS circuit! Link2 It's pretty easy to get working and it doesn't need very high voltages to get decent results. I've also had some results with a 555+MOSFET setup like on the Penguin's Lab site.

I doubt it. Melting aluminium takes more effort than simply heating iron to red heat. You'll have to start small with the Mazzilli or 555 driver and eventually learn enough to make a real powerful induction heater. Count on a few years at least if you don't know anything about electronics.

The melting point of aluminium is 700°C and the melting point of iron is 1538 °C. So the melting point of aluminium is not so high, and this is because I dont need a powerfull induction heater.
