I needed higher voltage for my TC, so i decided to do some "simple" boost converter (if it is)
So oscilator was from 3x inverters 74hc04, with some cap and resistor to make oscillations. I am sure it is working :) the power part is mosfet IFRS630A driven from it (only one)
Transformer is 7turns primary, 130turns secondary on H core from some small choke . Primary is switched to 5V with mosfet.
The thing is, what is better for type of "transformer" i am using - higher or lower frequency, i have no scope (yet) so dunno frequency. mosfet is getting hot, i dunno if it is working more, i was able to get 50V with one filtering diode or 70-80V with CW multiplier (2x stage)
Tesla was working, but very poor performance, because of poor power supply. Do you know something i can improve it with? I think first thing would be rewiring trafo
I am able of 5V33A or 12V10A power supplier (PC PSU 200W), or smaller of course.
