Honestly I've always done all my work on breadboards, but they are becoming just to ugly and space inefficient for my current hobby works. Anyone know of any good companies that do reasonably priced prototyping on a small scale. I've tried the photo etching stuff before and it just gets ugly and really just can't get as nice of traces. Any ideas or hints on other methods? Thanks!

If you only need a couple of square inches, Link2 is a good option, if you need more then Link2 seems like the best bet.

Looked into ExpressPCB? Link2

They're terribly popular. I don't know what your budget is... I've used ExpressPCB before, and their results are excellent.

Cheers,

Thanks. I've been searching around for quite some time and those are much better then what I've been finding especially the Gold Phoenix one. $130 for 155in2 with up to 6 different projects isn't bad. I'm in no rush right now and can easily wait till several projects get to finalized stages

Yes cjk2 They state it in their FAQ.

A suggestion maybe to just make your own, Now I know it sounds daunting, but with prices from Xpress being 60$ for 3 double sided 3.8"x2.5" (96.5mmX63.5mm), and gold pheonix and Batch pcbs requiring Gerberx and NCdrill files, with most of the programs that output those files being rather costly and their free trials are very limited on size and everything else, Ithought I'd take a peak at digikey and see if they have any PCB kits, and they have 2 that look VERY promising.

The economy Link2 , supporting upto a 8"x9" board, and the pro package Link2 supporting upto 8"X12" boards.

A more experienced friend and I used ExpressPCB
Link2
I still use the little software package and they were really helpful and patient even though we were spending about $100.
If I ever had any interaction with a firm looking for small scale stuff I would recommend them without blinking an eye. For the hobbyist; I don't think you can do better (IMO).

Yea, in a way its kinda hard to chose, spend around 200-300$ for all the stuff and maybe make a few boads here and there or spen 150 or so for 2 boards that are good.

Well I can see why people choose ExpressPCB and the such, I got my 3 boards in today...forgot to make sure holes were the right size and pin orientation was correct, but other wise the pins will fit with some work. Heres a Pic of all 3.
