Ive been trying to get a 555 oscillator to work, and ive done it before,but ive been unable to (made a post about this earlier). Is it possible that they burned out from running a SGTC near them? It was only a MOT and a MO cap. all my 555's were together.

This is off topic but just to save you from a mess do NOT use mot with capacitor like that. The cap is rated way to high, It is rated for dc not ac so it will blow up or something bad, and 2kv it not a good voltage to be running a coil.
