I've decided to make a tube preamplifier, probably using 2 smaller tubes such as the 12AX7/12AT7 etc. and i have a rectifier tube, the 6X4- Will this tube be able to handle the current that will be required to run these other two tubes? I know the rectifier tube is rated at .6A , but I have no idea what the other tubes use.

You're looking at 5mA per plate structure. No problem.
It's .6A heater current. 45mA Rectifier plate structure, so 90mA in parallel. It's about 40W max handling. You could have a nice 6V6 push-pull amp with phase inverter and a few preamp tubes.

Im going to stick with a preamplifier so i dont have to go out and buy a large output transformer, and iim trying to stick with the tubes i have, so I don't want to do a push pull because i don't have multiples of any power tubes.
