Dissassemble of transformer with... ?

Hi, because i dont have posibility to buy skelet of trafo, i want to use my "not usable" trafos. but they are glued with some kind of laquer. What can i use to melt it and get away, so i can safetly dissasemble?

(sorry for some words... i dont know if i used the right ones)

THANKS for any advices (but not to buy them on ebay :)

Most of the time the glue will come apart if you boil it for a few minutes. If your transformer is laminated iron, you're in luck, as those are very hard to break, and the glue is usually somewhat easy to get off. If it is ferrite, its a bit tougher to get apart without breaking the core. If you are having trouble getting it off the glue, take it out of the water, scrape as much glue off as you can, then put it back in for awhile. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Well for my laminated iron transformer i just got a sharp edged object(in this case a knife) and pried the laminations apart. I had to do this 50 or more times and i had disassembled my first transformer! amazed

Where i work we heat the transformers in about 150c in a oven when we need to disassamble them.
