I know Dan has this great page but I cannot find the IXDN430CI anywhere.
Anyone know of where I can get this? Digikey does have the IXDD414CI-ND @ 14amps drive
How much gate current is actually needed on the bigger igbt's. I could double up the IXDD414 but since they dont look to be a super popular item i might run into the same problem as the 430's if I blow a couple.

There is a good application on on how to gate drive a CM600 from Powerex. Check it out on their website. It shows how to operate, design, and test the gate drive.
Basically, get your gate drive running, and then (with no collector voltage on the IGBT), switch the CM600 and measure risetime/fall time and look at the waveform with an oscilloscope.
