Have any of you guys ordered samples of electronics from Linear? I got his as my reply:
Thank you for your sample request. For orders within the United States, please allow 2 - 7 business days for delivery. For sample orders outside the United States, your sample will be shipped to your local sales office and will be delivered to you by your local sales representative within 5 - 10 business days. If you have not received your samples after this time, please call your local sales office or (408) 432-1900.
Does this mean a guy will drive to my house and hand deliver my goods, or does it mean that they mail it to him/her and they mail it to me?
I've never ordered samples before, so I do n't know how it works.

My TI sample was delivered to my door, while Microchip has sent their samples by air mail. You'll probably get your sample delivered to your door, by a real person(!).

I ordered a rail to rail op-amp for the Minibrute. I could have just paid the 6 bux for it, but then there was the whole 6 bux to ship it, so I figured I'd try ordering a sample and get it for free.

Discussion of the ethics of sampling components rarely lead to anything good. Since this thread has served it's purpose, and since it could otherwise quickly go downhill, I close it.
